Around The Caprock: Feb. 1-5
This week's editions of Around the Caprock on the Texas Farm Bureau Radio Network were highlighted by a discussion on wheat with Texas A&M AgriLife agronomist Jourdan Bell. In our interview, Dr. Bell provided an update on what has been a challenging season for wheat in our area and outlined what farmers can do to try to boost their yields.
During the week, we also shared some insights from Dr. Brent Bean of the Sorghum Checkoff on major advancements that have been made in just the past few years - including substantial progress in combating the sugar cane aphid. And DeDe Jones of AgriLife gave us an overview of an online resource designed to help area producers make cropping decisions ahead of spring planting.
